Well we all know the classic way to use your blacklight with posters and other iridescent objects but with this little article you will learn a few other ways to increase the power of your blacklight.

Now there are two quick and easy things to use your black light on besides the good ol' posters. First way is by using a simple detergent such as Tide. The other is a little more complicated but in the end you will end up with a glowing bottle (for this you can use empty liquor bottles).

Lets start off with the detergent. Its pretty amazing and believe it or not simple detergent will show up under a black light. Now you might wonder what this is good for. Think on a grand scheme, you have posters but you also have walls. Theres where the idea comes in. All you have to do is put some detergent on your finger and you can write your name, make designs, or if you put your whole hand in, you can put hand prints around. The only thing you gotta do is check to see if the detergent your using glows under the blacklight.

Now lets get to the glowing bottles. To start out with you have to get a highlight marker. The first thing you will want to do is to make sure the marker is black light responsive. Just because it says it is florescent doesn't mean it will glow. To test this simply write on a piece of paper and then hold it up to a blacklight to see how bright it will glow.

Now that you have a marker that works you will need to get the ink out of it. Usually you can pry off the bottom of the marker with something thin. Once it comes off, take out the foam cylinder with the ink in it. You will now start to get the ink into the bottle. Pinch the top of the foam so no ink can get out, then with your other hand squeeze and slide your hand down the cylinder and push the ink out and let it drip into the bottle. Get as much out as you can and then fill the rest of the bottle up with water. It may not seem like a lot, but a little ink goes a long way.
